"Nastics"

On Tuesday night Katie tried her first gymnastics class. She was pretty stoked, even though she had no idea what to expect.

Daddy "attended" the parent/tot class with her.

She was all over the place.

She just wanted to go run and jump on everything.

It was a great way to burn off energy.

She loved free time.

It took a little convincing but she finally let the teacher help her do a handstand.

Charlotte is in this class, so it was fun to do "nastics" with her BFF.

Look at this leotard. Or rather, biketard. So cute!

The balance beam was a favorite. I knew she'd love it because she's always asking Daddy to make her a "bridge" with his legs on the ottoman so she can walk across his legs.

She had some fun on the bar, too. Hanging around.

It was a lot of fun but a little too close to bedtime. She was pretty cranky by the end of class. I think next week we'll have to try an earlier class, which is a little bit of a bummer because we wanted her to be in class with Charlotte.

Ethan the Blue

Katie and Ethan have invaded the closet where I keep things like wrapping paper and scrapbook supplies. Ya know... the types of things I don't want them to play with.

Ethan has been carrying this particular tube of paper around non stop, so Daddy started calling him Gandalf. (After Gandalf the Gray for all of you unfamiliar with The Lord of the Rings.)

March 23rd

On Ethan's actual first birthday we sang "Happy Birthday" to him. At his exact birthday time- 12:54pm.

Everyone got their own cupcake.

The birthday boy was thrilled!

He devoured it like it was disappearing.

Yummy!

Not a finger went un-licked.

Ethan made sure to get comfy.

He finished every last bite.

And practically licked the table clean.

Later, Mommy and Daddy gave Ethan his birthday gift. Here he is enjoying his rocket tent with Big Sister.

P.S. They have already almost destroyed this tent. Trav is attempting to fix it as I type.

Ethan's 1st Birthday Party

Ethan's race car party was so much fun!

We celebrated at a park in Grandma's neighborhood on March 13th.

Lots of friends and family were there.

Including Great Aunt Linda all the way from Phili.

Everyone had fun playing.

Cousin Kiera even woke up for awhile to join GG in the festivites.

Ethan even got to play with one of Grandma Sundal's gifts before the presents were opened.

That water table was a hit! Thanks, Grandma! The birthday boy spent most of his party splashing and playing with boats.

And Ethan got lots of Birthday Huggers.

Daddy manned the grill.

While everyone chatted...

...and held baby cousin...

...and chased Ethan around.

After a yummy lunch...

...it was time for cake!

Mmmm.

Ethan was not so sure about everyone singing to him.

But then he realized the cake was for him.

A little hesitant at first.

It was the first time he had ever tasted cake.

Look at that little man.

Next, Ethan opened his presents.

What a silly little guy.

He got the hang of it.

Then it was time to play some more!

Ethan focused on his very first dump truck.

Beep beep.

Thanks Grandma and Grandpa!

It was/is highly coveted by all.

Thank you so much to all our friends and family that helped Ethan celebrate his very special birthday!

We love ya all!
