Catching Up: Ethan Turns 2!

We started out the day at story time. The mouse from 'If You Give a Mouse a Cookie' was there. fun times.

On Friday, March 23rd, at 12:54 pm exactly, we sang 'Happy Birthday' to this big guy. Mommy cried, naturally.

Wraylyn was with us for the morning and enjoyed her cookie.

Katie enjoyed the rare opportunity guzzle up some Capri Sun.

Cousin Kiera also enjoyed the birthday treat.

This guy is growing up so fast.

Later, when Daddy got home, Mommy and Daddy gave Ethan his gift.  The second he saw the bike he threw his toy to the ground (literally) and raced over to it. So stinkin' cute.

 Safety first.

(Looking to Daddy for a little assistance.)

Katie supervised and (not so) patiently waited for Mommy and Daddy to fetch her bike so she could ride alongside Ethan.

Happy birthday to the craziest, cutest little dude I know.

Catching Up: Preschool Wannabe

Not yet, Buddy. Mommy wants to keep you little awhile longer. (March 22nd)

Catching Up: The Zoo

On the 5th of March we finally made it to the zoo. We had attempted multiple time since the beginning of the year but things kept coming up. No pun intended. Anyway, Katie fell in love with the Komodo Dragon. She says he is her friend. And now all lizards are Komodo Dragons.

Catching Up: Everyone Loves a Pink Hat

March 6th: Who says dress up has to end when lunchtime begins? Not this guy.

Catching Up: "Pay Ou-side"

Since we've moved to the new place Ethan has become quite the little outdoorsman. It's all he wants to do. I don't really mind because there is more visibility at this place, meaning I don't have to be out there the entire time. So once I get the dog poop picked up, I let him out. But he is not a fan of waiting, so he has figured out how to open the sliding door himself and sneak out. Lucky us. It cracks me up though that the second he tastes freedom he forgets all about the wide open door... (2-29-12)

Catching Up: Random Moment in Time

I love this. Ethan standing on the couch, having thieved Daddy's hat while he tries to use the iPad and Katie climbs all over him. Priceless. (Feb 17th)

Catching Up: Miss Thang

Some serious style right here, folks. And don't you forget it. (February)

Catching Up: A Budding Artist

Seriously the messiest artist, eater, player, and anything else I can think of. But also, the cutest.
 (Feb '12)

Catching Up: Still Making His Own 'Hats"

Silly, silly, silly.

Catching Up:

If I remember correctly this was the day Grandma came over so we could all go to the zoo, but Ethan threw up in the car on the way there so we had movie day at home instead. Cousin Kiera and Grandma were pretty tired after watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.

Catching Up: Valentine's Day 2012

Mommy loves any excuse to leave fun surprises for the kids. Especially when it is a container with special "treasures" inside.

Their little smiles and giggles are so sweet.

Catching Up: Sibling Love

This past Christmas season the kiddies became OBSESSED! with "How the Grinch Stole Christmas." (The animated version, not the Jim Carrey version.) This was taken at the end of January. They like to hold hands when The Whos get together on Christmas morning, singing and holding hands. They even try to sing along in gibberish...it's precious.

Catching Up: Moving In

In January we moved to a new place. It's pretty exciting here. There's a nice big backyard to play in and a whole room for our toys. Here's me with a few of my favorite cars.

Catching Up: Hanging Out with "Papa"

This was taken in back In December. So cute. I just love how happy Ethan is when he's playing with the grandparents. And you just can't beat a grandpa who gives you shoulder rides!

More Catching Up: Christmas 2011

I know, I know, I know. It's almost summer for crying out loud. But I don't want to deny you the pleasure of these treasures:
On Christmas Eve Katie and Mommy made some reindeer food for Santa's reindeer.

We put it with the milk and cookies to make sure he saw it.

On Christmas morning we woke up to find that Santa came to our house! He left Katie this tea set...

And Ethan this basketball hoop.

Sometime after we finished opening presents Katie asked me where Santa was. She thought he was actually going to come hang out at our house and was really disappointed when I clarified that he only comes Christmas night and we don't get to see him. It was so cute and so sad at the same time.

Ethan was not a fan of his Santa outfit, but was all about dress up shoes and a hat. Aunt Linda and Grandma thought this was just the funniest thing!

Auntie Jenny drove in from Cali to have Christmas dinner with us. That was so fun. Good thing, too, because we needed lots of help putting together this awesome train table!

We all couldn't wait to get chugging along.

It was special to have Uncle John come celebrate with us, too. We didn't know it at the time but this would be the last picture we would take of him and Grandma Jody together (they are twins, by the way.) He died a couple of weeks ago and we all miss him so much.
