4 Months Old

Well now that he's a big boy, Ethan is playing with his toys. Here he is grabbing a toy in the play gym for the first time. (Sorry this pic is of low quality. Only had a second to document and my phone was all I had next to me.)

Cutie Patootie

"Kapootie!"

Play Gym Fun

Katie likes to help Ethan with Tummy Time. (He's not a fan of it, but Big Sister sure does make it a little more bearable for him.)

Having fun together during Floor Time.

Camo Boy

Back when Grandma and Grandpa came to visit for Ethan's birth, Grandpa gave this camo onesie and bib to Ethan.

It's a little big, but we're workin' on filling it out some more.

New Suit

As you can see from the previous post, Little K was outgrowing her swimsuit. We have Charlotte's Fantastic 2nd Birthday Party to attend on Saturday and we can't have her going all stuffed into a suit that almost shows her little nipples. So, Mommy picked this one up at Target.

When I put it on her to see if it fit, her eyes got so big and she said "Swim suit?"
Turns out she thought we were going to go swimming in the "horse." She was not happy about it when she realized we were staying inside.

Horse Pool

On Tuesday Mommy bought us a pool. (We want to swim, but Mommy is NOT into the idea of hauling us to a public pool by herself. Too stressful!)

So we got our very own pool (on sale at Target, of course) and Mommy used the air pump to get it set up on our back porch. Ghetto, I know. But it's better than nothing.

Katie keeps looking at the head and saying "Horse." Actually, she calls her giraffe toy a horse, too. Guess we need to work on that one.

Ethan really wasn't into getting splashed, but he tolerated it as long as Mommy held him.

Katie had the best time splashing and laying back in it.

More Narrations

"I seep" ([I sleep] When she lays down and pretends to sleep on the couch or our bed)
"I fissing" ([I'm fishing] When she's planting with the toy fishing pole)
"Narnia" (When she steals one of the "The Chronicles of Narnia" books off the shelf)
"I suck" [I'm stuck]
"I got it!" (Referring to a ball.)
"I fix it."

Katie Narrates Her Life

This weekend Daddy made the comment that Katie's speech is like a narration of her life. So true! Here's just a few instances that I can think of:
"I pick." (You can probably guess what she's describing.)
"I funny." (When she laughs or makes us laugh.)
"I siwwee." ([I'm silly] Describing hanging out under something- like the jumperoo, or wearing an article of clothing the wrong way.)
"Dump!" ([Jump] This one's self-explanatory.)
"Go fast." (When we're in the stroller or a shopping cart and on the move.)
"Shoes on." (This one's obvious.)

Making Baby Sounds

This little guy is really coming into his own. He's pretty steady when we prop him up in a seated position, he holds his head up and turns it with minimal bobbing, he plays with his hands, he makes bubbles in his spit (actually- he's been doing that for about a month now), he can support his weight standing up (with Mommy or Daddy holding him under his arms, of course), and he has some fun baby sounds. "Ah-goo," "Bwaah," and "Aaaaa-ohh.". Mommy loves this baby boy so much!

Strollin' in Our Jammies

Mommy has decided that the only time to walk the dogs during the summer is FIRST thing in the morning. So here we are, right after breakfast, in our jammies, getting ready to take the dogs for a walk. (This was also the first time Ethan rode in the stroller sitting upright. Usually he is either lying down or in the car seat. He liked it a lot more.)

Ethan Likes the Jumperoo

First time. Just takin' it all in.

Smiling at Mommy.

Here's a little live footage. I think Katie was at least 4 months old before we put her in this, but oh well. I just want a place to put him where Katie can't get to him. And he seems to enjoy it.

4th of July Fun

We celebrated Independence Day at Mike and Jocelyn's this year.
Katie had a blast exploring.

Ethan had a blast just sitting around watching.

We even had some fun swimming.

Ethan was less than thrilled about it.

But Katie loved her new floaties.
