Check Ups

Yesterday we had our checkups with Dr. Wallace. Ethan's 6 month and Katie's 2 year. All morning Katie walked (ran) around the house saying "Go-ing oo see Docor Wah-wus." So cute!

While we were there Katie made friends with the gal at the front desk and admired other babies in the waiting area. Ethan received lots of compliments for his chub from every staff member that laid eyes on him. (As usual.) In return he gave them big smiles and squeals.

While we were waiting the required 15 minutes post flu shot, we ran into our friends "The Sellers Tribe." Minus one. Ana-Grace was in school. Unfortunately they weren't there for check ups. They've been dealing with fevers and pneumonia. Poor girls.

Here's the stats:

Weight: 21 lb, 8 oz - 95%
Length: 27 in - 75%
Head Circumference: 17 .25 in - 50%

Weight: 32.6 lb - 95%
Length: 36.5 in - 97%
Head Circumference: 19 in - 75%

Ethan is 6 months Old!

Last week we started rice cereal for Mr. Ethan. He kinda liked being in the highchair. Probably because it allowed him a good vantage point for all of the activity in our kitchen.

After he was all done there was minimal damage. Good job, little buddy. Mommy and Daddy can't believe you're big enough for cereal already!

Bath Time Dolly

Katie loves her new bath baby! (Thanks, Grandma!) For the first few days after we "brought her home" Katie would not let her out of her sight.

Mommy's View

Mommy loves looking back in the truck and seeing these chubby little feet sticking out. So adorable.

Duplo Legos

A big thank you to my great-aunt Linda for this spectacular birthday present. I like to build really tall towers out of the square pieces and carry them all around the house with me.

Little Chubbers

Look at this little chubber man playing in his playgym.

Mommy loves kissing those cheeks!

And Grandma loves him so much.

Katie-isms

"Manote" (remote)
"Teen-kuw-bewl" (Tinkerbell)

And she's even saying complete sentences. Just to name a few:
"Do you see? I can't see it anywhere?"
"Hagrid's drinking water."
"I read Down by da Bay."

Mommy loves that little wumpkin.

Katie's Party (Finally)

We started off with a well-intentioned craft. Sunglasses decorated with shape stickers. They all had fun with it, but the glasses were too big. Mommy mis-measured. =(

Katie had a blast putting the stickers all over herself and climbing on top of the coolers.

Check out those mouse ears. Love it!

Katie LOVED her cake. And Mommy had so much fun making it. So worth the effort to see the look on her face!

By the time we got to opening presents little K was spent. She opted out of her nap and was pretty tired. So Mommy did the honors and Katie admired all her gifts from the floor or across the room.

At one point she ran into the other room with her thumb in her mouth, climbed into the guest bed, and pulled the blanket up on herself. Not two seconds later she changed her mind and came out again.

It was a super fun day. Thank you everyone, near and far, who helped us celebrate Katie's 2nd birthday!

(And a very big thank you to Joe for taking these pictures. Otherwise I wouldn't have anything to post! So busy!)

Katie is 2!

On Friday (Sept. 3) our Wumpkin turned 2! Can't hardly believe it. At her exact birthday (6:04 pm) we sang Happy Birthday to her. I don't know why, but that's kinda important to me. Anyway, she had been eyeing this cupcake from the moment she got up from her nap, so that's why the candles are all catywompus and the cupcake is all uneven.

After she devoured her cupcake we gave her the present from us. She thought it was the greatest thing ever.

On the move!

She doesn't quite get the peddling action yet. So fun to see how excited she was. We won't revisit how upset she was when it was time to come inside. Meltdown!

Little Jibber Jabber-er

Ethan sure is having fun making baby sounds these days. "Uhhh bah-bah-bah-baaaaahhhh" is my favorite. (He says it with a little growl-like quality.) He's growing up so fast! And he's a size 9 month now. Holy Moley. We go in for his six month checkup (and Katie's 2 year check up) on the 27th. Can't wait to see how much he weighs.

Loungin' and Chattin'

(Look how long Katie's legs look here. She's getting so tall!)

Havin' a blast eating my snack and talking with Ethan.
