First Ever Berry Family Vacation

Here we are on our way to California. Ethan looks particularly excited because this was the first time he was allowed to sit in a forward facing seat.

These two little ones spent almost the whole drive cuddling up under their blankets.

 It's hard work eating goldfish.

Katie read a lot of good books.

We even stopped at Chuck E Cheese in Yuma to burn off some energy!

It was a blast!

We've Arrived!

We arrived safe and sound at Carlsbad Beach. The drive was surprisingly quick and painless.  Here we are playing around in the hotel while Mommy and Daddy were getting us all set to go to the beach.

Ethan was not so sure about it.

But Katie was totally into it.

Contemplating joining his sister.

Having a ball.

The next day was our first full day at the beach.

Katie got right to work playing in the sand.

 So much fun!

Even Ethan enjoyed the sand...at first.

After he tasted it he was less than thrilled.

Chillin' at the Beach

The second day at the beach started out with Ethan rubbing sunscreen in his eyes. He was not happy.

Katie wasted no time getting back into the water.

The waves were her favorite part.

Ethan settled in to scoop some sand.

We barely saw Katie up at the blanket, she spent the whole day splashing.

 Cheese!

Daddy convinced Ethan to go down to the waves.

He liked pointing and blabbing about them.

 Male bonding.

Pretty soon we couldn't get Ethan out of the water.

Katie loved filling the ocean up with sand. So funny.

Ethan loved the way the water felt on his feet.

The beach is so much fun!

Later, Cousin Kiera, Auntie Laura, and Uncle David ventured on over to our blanket. Ethan promptly stole her bumbo chair.

But she had fun hanging out with us in spite of the thieving.

Heading Home

Just reading our new book while Mommy and Daddy pack us up. (By the way: his shirt says, "You can call me SUPER SERIOUS BIG TIME TROUBLE" How appropriate.)

 What a fun toy!

A little lunch at Seaport Village before the drive home.

Look at those boats! Very cool.
